[Road Brief] Day 16 – Onwards and Upwards – to Chicago

posted by Boris

Rider caught in a moment of pure riding bliss!

Day # 16
Miles Covered Today:
31
Hours on The Road: 2.5
Miles Traveled Since Beginning: 912

Day Overview: Today was Earth Day and we spent it with the great folks of Ann Arbor at their Earth Day Festival. The electric bikes got a fantastic reception at the event and had a lot of interest and test rides.

After the event – and about 40 test rides later – we had to pack up in order to get on the road. Since we left at 5pm and only had a few hours of sunlight left, we set to cover just about ~30 miles in order to reach our host for the night. This quick push will help us to break up the remaining distance to our next destination – Chicago – into more equal portions.

Special thanks goes to our Airbnb host in Ann Arbor, Michelle, for her wonderful hospitality and delicious breakfasts!

Next Scheduled Event: Chicago, IL on April 26th at 5.30pm with IGO Carsharing. RSVP here or see full schedule of future stops.

Where We Are: Grass Lake, MI (route completed so far is below)

    Hi Anna & Boris,
I’ve been thinking about you and hope you haven’t had too many bad moments along the way. It’s hard to believe you’re almost in Chicago already since you were in Baltimore 2 weeks ago. I love reading the blog! Take Care and Stay Safe! Deb

  2. Ann Arbor loves to host adventurers such as you two! You were a great addition to our Earth Day celebration. Thanks for stopping in our city on your odyssey.
    Be safe,
    Michelle
